Simplicity is a double-edged sword for Storyline. It's an app that makes it easy to create simple slideshows of your photos, but it does lack a few small features that would have made it all the better.
Requiring hardly any set up to speak of, you can dive straight into Storyline and immediately start adding photos of your choosing. You can add up to 20 images to your story, opting to drag them around and rotate their order to your particular requirements. After that, you can add some text to create a heading, as well as add your name to the video. This is where I wish Storyline had more options. You can't change the font used or its size, and you can't add captions to your images.
Instead, you add an audio backing track explaining what's going on. That's fine, but it'd be all the better if you could throw in some text as well. It wouldn't add much to the speed in which it takes to create a video and would be particularly useful when wanting to add context to something.
Either way, after adding your piece of audio you can then easily share the video to various social networks, as well as via text or email. Storyline knows not to outstay its welcome and you genuinely could create a video in a matter of seconds.
If, like me, you feel a bit restricted in terms of what you can achieve here, at least you'll be pleased to be able to complete such a task so efficiently. Storyline certainly has a purpose here, meaning you can easily share your content with loved ones rather than feel bogged down in editing and adapting. Just don't be surprised if you start wishing that it did a little more.
