Planning on spending 2015 doing a lot more travelling? ShutterBee might be just what you need. The app is a social networking tool for those who want to capture all their travel experiences in one place, while also checking out others’ tales.
It's possible to sign up via Facebook, proving to be the most convenient method, with you able to add entries within seconds. There are a variety of different posts at your disposal, although each is quite similar. They mostly involve uploading photos or panoramas with the option to add captions and information about where you've been. A location as well as weather information can be simply added here, although unfortunately you can't do any retroactive adding of locations, being solely restricted to where you are now. Check-ins are also quite popular, given they're the easiest way of showing where you've been.
Of course, no social networking app would be successful unless you could check out other people's journeys. ShutterBee does that quite simply, given it seems to have relatively few members at the moment. However it's easy to learn more about someone, such as how many countries they've visited as well as check out any photographs they may have uploaded from a location. It's a little rudimentary at times, given that ShutterBee isn't overly stylish, but it works. The main thing that's most appealing is watching the statistics trickle upwards when it comes to how many countries you, or someone else, has visited while using the app.
The problem with any new social networking app, however, is that it has to offer something that other, more established services don't already cover. ShutterBee doesn't quite succeed there. It covers all the relevant bases and it makes it easy to share content with other networks, but it doesn't have that unique feature that makes it a must download.
