Kitchen Wizard is a cookery app that’s mostly intended for students, single people, and lazy people. I don't mean that disparagingly (as I fit two of those criteria) but more as a compliment. While some cookery apps are keen for you to make gourmet meals that look wondrous, Kitchen Wizard accepts that often you just want to cook and eat something reasonably quickly, and within the constraints of your kitchen cupboard.

That's the beauty to Kitchen Wizard. It comes up with suggestions based upon what's in your cupboards and fridge. You enter all the information relating to what's there, and it figures out the rest. In theory, long gone are the days where you keep thinking 'Oh, no, can't make that, we're missing X'.

kitchen4kitchen3It's a clever way of doing things, although I suspect it's more likely to be popular amongst single, disorganized folk than families. Each recipe tends to lean in that kind of direction, which is no bad thing at all.

To further enhance its potential, you can submit your own recipes to the service. Because, after all, you want to share that bizarre concoction that kind of worked despite your suspicions, right?

Kitchen Wizard also helps remind you of when you're getting low on stuff and even if food is likely to spoil, so it should help a lot in keeping you more organized. All the food input does take some time, but it's worth it. It should help you save money in the long run too, ensuring food doesn't spoil and that you use everything up.

While Kitchen Wizard isn't particularly stylish to look at, it's quite practical and useful. Anything that can give you some realistic recipe alternatives has to be convenient, and Kitchen Wizard scratches that itch.
