What's it about?
The Land of Venn is in danger of being overrun by Bookenriders -- crazy monsters that roam the land and drink its Magic Juice. Using points, lines, and shapes, kids vaporize Bookenriders and prevent them from drinking the juice and destroying the land. Kids strategically draw shapes to eliminate the Bookenriders as efficiently as possible. As the game progresses, the Bookenriders become more challenging, but kids can earn coins to purchase magic spells. There are 3 wacky worlds to protect, 15 different monsters to battle, 30 levels to complete, and 12 abilities to master, including the Point of Fire, Straight Line of Hope, the Trapezoid of Doom, and much more.
Is it any good?
THE LAND OF VENN - GEOMETRIC DEFENSE is a shining example of learning through gameplay. While geared toward kids in grades 1 through 4, it's sure to be a hit with kids both young and old. The characters are crazy and quirky, the soundtrack is delightful, and the game is insanely engaging. Bookenriders continue to challenge kids by trying to get to the Magic Juice in different ways -- crawling, flying, jumping, driving, and more. The brief tutorials teach concepts in easy-to-understand language, and then kids can immediately apply the concepts as they play different levels. Kids probably won't realize just how much they are learning about geometry as they tap, drag, and draw shapes to defeat the monsters and win the game.
