It might not look particularly appealing, but underneath Space Forest Dilemma's somewhat primitive exterior is a rather enjoyable and logical puzzle game. One that's sure to test you for a while to come.
Each level involves a series of blocks that must move without colliding into each other. It's a simple concept that's soon used to test your patience. Setting off the blocks is a matter of tapping on one to start it on its path, before tapping on a different one to also set it off. Timing is key here, with success dependent on you unleashing the blocks at a point in which they're not going to clash.
This simple idea soon gets trickier. Sometimes, you're better off setting multiple blocks at once by swiping across them at once. Other times, you have special colored blocks that change direction depending on earlier taps. Obstacles arise too, with some destroying the movable blocks if they get in the way. Space Forest Dilemma does a decent job of gradually introducing such concepts so it's never frustrating, only distinctly tricky. There aren't any timers (although your high score does depend on your speed in solving puzzles), so you're only ever rushed by your own impatience. Practice eventually makes perfect here.
Fortunately, if you get stuck, you can easily skip to another level. It's something that works well in keeping you interested, even when you feel like you've hit a roadblock in an earlier level. Space Forest Dilemma also offers you the chance to spend $0.99 to unlock a bunch of new levels and you'll soon find yourself tempted by such a proposition.
Overall, Space Forest Dilemma is a real delight for fans of logic puzzles. It'll test your analytical skills to quite a degree in the end, but you'll enjoy it every step of the way.
