Parents need to know that Code Land - Coding for Kids is a subscription-based app with leveled games that tap into the fundamentals of coding. Games cover generalized concepts like logic, critical thinking, and learning through trial and error, and basic precoding. More advanced games require kids to construct coding sequences to finish a level or program a multiplayer game. While the first set of games has no text, the second set requires reading. Though the app is compatible with phones, most games are probably easier to play on a larger screen. At the time of this review, there are a quite a few games that are grayed out and labeled as "coming soon." Parents need to sign up for an account using an email address or sign in with an Apple account. In the parents menu, caregiverscan create multiple user profiles, turn music and sound effects on or off, and choose to set the app to one of 14 languages.
