Parents need to know that Encantos - Play, Learn, Grow is a subscription-based app that aims to teach a range of early learning skills through storytelling. Content is presented through different storyworlds, each of which features a different set of characters, storytelling style, or underlying educational focus. Through videos and digital storybooks, kids engage with stories that touch on standard early learning fare such as numbers and the ABCs, but also less commonly found themes such as overcoming fear and anxiety, or global citizenship. There's no read-to-me feature for the storybooks, so kids will need someone to read aloud for them. The developers claim that presenting content from diverse voices is one of their foundational principles, and content showcases a variety of cultures and racial backgrounds. Much of the content is available in English and Spanish, or a mix of the two such as the Canticos collection. There are a few interactive games and a collection of songs, though the bulk of the content consists of videos and storybooks.
