Mineshaft: Dynamite Blast is a game that takes a few attempts to really click. Once it does though, it's pretty fun – if a bit simplistic in the long run.
You control a miner as he attempts to propel himself up and down a mineshaft. He does this through the use of his lift, as well as with dynamite. You have to release the brake, thereby causing him to bungee down the shaft, before hitting it again before he smacks into the bottom or the top at speed. Once he stops, he releases his dynamite, the dynamite clears a path, and so the process continues.
The key to Mineshaft: Dynamite Blast is to do this as many times as possible. Each time, the timing changes slightly as the shaft gets longer. This means you have to constantly adapt to what's going on around you. Your reward for doing so is a better high score and the acquisition of hard hats, indicating that you've got a little bit further in the game than before. You can certainly go pretty far down that mineshaft if you time things right, with the possibility of gaining extra powerful bombs through perfect timing being the key to success here.
However, this is potentially where Mineshaft: Dynamite Blast falters a little bit. It's crying out for an upgrade system of some kind to further extend its potential, but instead it keeps it pretty simple. It's easily a fun kind of simple, with bungeeing up and down becoming quite mesmerizing after a time, but it'd be nice if there was a bit more going on.
As it stands, Mineshaft: Dynamite Blast works well as a simple to learn but tricky to master one-touch game, but don't be surprised when the charm eventually wears thin.
