Premier Sports: How to watch Serie A and La Liga football
When it comes to watching continental football in the UK, there’s only one place where you can Serie A, the Eredivisie and La Liga. That channel is Premier Sports.
Premier Sports is where you can watch the Derby d’Italia and El Clásico in the UK, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimović plying their trade in the European leagues.

How much does Premier Sports cost?
A Premier Sports TV package can be had through Premier itself, Sky, Virgin and Netgem.TV.
For Sky customers they can get access to Premier Sports 1 and 2 , La Liga TV and BoxNation (with Premier Player included for free) for £9.99/month. This is on top of a Sky Q subscription and there’s a choice of paying it all in one sum (£120).
There’s multi-room functionality for additional set-top boxes. Subscriptions for multi-room must be sorted over the phone and adds extra £1/month per box.
For Sky viewers who want La Liga TV (via Premier Player), then that’s an extra £6.99/month on top of your existing Sky subscription. Premier Player and La Liga TV on the own costs £6.99/month, too.
Virgin customers can get the same deal as Sky, with Premier Sports 1/2, La Liga and BoxNation but no Premier Player for £9.99/month. for customers with a Netgem TV subscription, Premier Sports 1/2 and La Liga TV are included in the sub, and that currently costs £16.99/month.
If you’re not subscribed to any TV platform and simply want access to just Premier Sports: Premier Sports 1 and 2 , La Liga TV and BoxNation and the Premier Player can be had for £9.99/month (minimum 6 month term). Or
That’s not all. La Liga TV on its own is £6.99 (minimum one month term), while if you purchase a 12-month option, that costs only £59/year.
Premier Sports — Is there a free trial?
Promo codes and trials are only available to free customers. Eligibility is, according to the wording on the Premier Sports website is “determined by Premier Sports at its sole discretion.”
To cancel a subscription on Sky, log into your Premier Sports account, find My Subscriptions, click on Cancel Subscription link at the bottom and follow the instructions. For Premier Player users, log in and head to My Account and follow the instructions there. Virgin Media users will need to contact Virgin directly to deal with this issue.
What live football is on Premier Sports?
Premier Sports shows a minimum of 7 live Serie A matches per week, the “biggest” matches from the Eredivisie and all La Liga matches via La Liga TV.
The latest round of European football on Premier Sports kicks off on Friday, 11th December. The first match is Sassuolo v Benevento.
Saturday sees the Madrid derby between Real and Atletico, with Atletico top of the table and Real six points behind in fourth. After securing qualification to the next phase of the Champions League, Zidane’s men will be looking to jump-start their league form.
It’s Barcelona v Real Sociedad on Saturday night. After losing to what Gerard Pique described as the worst Madrid team he’s ever played against, Barcelona will be looking a pick up against Real Sociedad. While they’re only one point behind Madrid, Barcelona’s season is experiencing a slight wobble at the moment. Sunday sees table-topping Milan v Parma, as the Milan giant looks to keep their excellent run of form going.

Can I watch Premier Sports online?
For those who don’t have Sky and Virgin, the Premier Player is your choice for watching online. The service includes a seven-day catch-up service allowing you to “watch any live or delayed event from the previous week”.
HD is the maximum resolution, and it’s viewable on “all major devices” from iOS to Android and PCs. Casting is supported to the Fire TV/Stick from the Android and iOS app, as is casting from Chromecast. Casting to Apple TV can be done via the iOS app.
To watch via a browser, a connection of 5MB and up-to-date versions of Chrome and Firefox are recommended.
Is there a Premier Sports App?
There’s an Android app and an iOS app available for Premier Player. The website recommends you sign up to the Player website before downloading the app through the Apple and Google Play stores.
The Premier Player does not officially support playback on Kindle Fire devices, but there is a workaround available for Kindle Fire HD. For more information on how, head over to this page and heading to the Technical and Device info.
You cannot watch the Premier Sports on more multiple devices at a time. If you do switch between devices, you will need to log out of one device before using the service on another. If you can’t access the original device, “you will have to wait 10 hours before being able to log-in on the new device.”
How can I watch Premier Sports on TV?
Premier Sports is available on Sky and Virgin channels (but not BT Sport).
On Sky, the channels are 412 for Premier 1 in HD, 429 for Premier 2 and 435 for La Liga TV. BoxNation is on 427.
On Virgin, go to Channel 551 for Premier 1 HD broadcasts, 552 for Premier 2, 554 for La Liga and 546 for BoxNation.
There’s also a sister channel in FreeSports and you can see some Serie A and the Eredivisie games, but the frequency of matches is fewer. The channel does host live matches of the Portuguese Primera Liga.
FreeSports website is available on Freeview HD channel 64, Sky channel 422, Virgin 553, TalkTalk 64 and BT TV 64.
