How to get the One UI 3 beta on your Samsung Galaxy Note 20

Samsung opened its One UI 3 beta up to Galaxy S20 users earlier this month. Now, the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra have joined that list, with the latest update to Samsung’s operating software rolling out in the US, India and Germany first.

The update was announced in a post shared on Samsung’s community forum, while its expansion to India and Germany was reported by SamMobile.

One UI 3 is set to deliver all the headline Android 11 features to your Samsung phone, including the redesigned notification system, chat bubbles, screen recording, updated media controls and the all-new privacy controls. There will also likely be some Samsung-exclusive features we look forward to exploring when the update rolls out.

While the update isn’t available in the UK just yet, it doesn’t sound like we’ll have to wait long for a rollout here. We’ve broken down how to install the One UI 3 beta below, so you can get the software as soon as it arrives.

Once available, simply update your Samsung software to access the One UI 3 beta. Here’s how to install the update:

  • Choose “Download and install”

Samsung recommends that you back your data up before installing the beta software, as unexpected behaviour in betas can result in data loss.

While the One UI beta programme is open to participants in the US, UK, China, Germany, India, Poland and South Korea, not every country can access the update from day one.

The Note 20 beta launched for US users signed onto Sprint, T-Mobile or using an unlocked device yesterday. The update rolled out in India and Germany just hours after the US release, making us hopeful the UK will be soon to follow.

The One UI 3 beta previously began rolling out for Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra users in Samsung’s South Korean home at the beginning of October, with the US, Germany, Poland and the UK following close behind.
