Netflix is finally letting you turn off autoplay trailers – here’s how
Well, we can never say Netflix doesn’t listen to our prayers. After a lengthy outcry from subscribers, the company is finally now offering them a way to turn off autoplaying previews while looking for something to watch.
In a tweet on Thursday evening, the streaming giant admitted the unpopularity of the feature, which had largely been used to help promote it’s original content. Now autoplaying preview can be easily switched on and off on all devices.
The company added the feature back in 2017 and it has never quite been accepted by a vocal element of the streaming firm’s customer base. It’s never really bothered us, but admittedly it can be quite jarring when you’re hovering over titles or scanning through them on a smart TV interface.
Some people find this feature helpful. Others not so much.

In a new support page, the company explained the setting can be adjusted within the Manage Profiles menu. The instructions are as follows:
When you browse Netflix, you can automatically play trailers using autoplay to get a preview of a TV show or movie.
To turn autoplay on or off:
Sign In to Netflix from a web browser.
Select Manage Profiles from the menu.
Select the profile you’d like to update.
Check or uncheck the option to Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices.
Just because Netflix has given way here, it doesn’t mean the community is ready to ease off on the Stranger Things maker.

Or how about @bIythesanne? She asks: “How about you ACTUALLY listen to your audience and stop producing shows that intend to have 5 seasons yet you cancel them without any storylines coming to a proper end and without telling those in charge of telling the stories so they can wrap everything up?”
Well you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.
