Viber’s new My Notes feature brings organisation to the chat app
Viber’s latest update includes an in-app task management tool disguised as another chat – and it actually looks pretty useful.
My Notes will assist users when they need to “organise the biggest and smallest moments, simplify daily tasks and deepen personal connections with users”, it announced this week.
The brand new organisation feature is designed to eliminate the need for a standalone task management app (or a pen and paper) by integrating to-do lists, photos, reminders and more directly into the messaging service.

The update means that if you make plans with friends in a Viber group chat, you can forward the message or create a reminder in a separate feed in seconds. It’s also good for forwarding photos to yourself to keep as memories and for moving content from your phone to your laptop and vice versa.
The feature essentially sounds like a more streamlined version of texting yourself, with the ability to cross off tasks, set timed alerts and sync content between devices making the whole process seem a little more seamless.
Viber says My Notes will allow users to:
- Create to-do lists and check tasks off when complete
- Save important messages, videos, photos and stickers in one place
- Sync My Notes across any device using the mobile, desktop and tablet apps
- Set reminders for the most important notes (coming soon)

“Making everyday life easier for our users is crucial and with My Notes we take it to another level,” said Rakuten Viber COO Ofir Eyal.
“Our users already value and trust Viber because of our privacy protecting features and faster performance. We’re excited for them to experience these new tools to effortlessly organize their thoughts, wishes and tasks all in one app.”
The feature was announced on Wednesday and is in the process of rolling out globally now.
