Parents need to know that Code the Robot. Save the Cat is an education app for iOS and Android devices. Kids help a robot follow steps along a path to get to a cat that is waiting at the end of path. The game starts out slowly, with simple puzzles that require kids to drag arrows and place them a certain order that will successfully guide the robot to finish a section of the path. The puzzles get more challenging as kids unlock levels, with more turns and different programming concepts like loops and conditions. You can add multiple players on the home screen, and game play picks up where a player last left off. There's a parent gate for the settings section, but this seems unnecessary since it only contains language, sounds, and other basics. However, there's also a much-needed parent gate for purchasing additional apps.
