NewNew

A lot or a little?

Parents need to know that NewNew is a social media app that encourages users to interact with popular internet personalities by voting on polls they create. These polls are meant to decide an influencer's decisions, like what to eat for breakfast or what kind of makeup they use. Some even offer a bit of creative input, allowing users to vote on what project an artist might work on next. Votes are purchased in the app, with the minimum of a single vote costing five dollars. Outside of polls, users can also make bids for specific requests. Everyday users can also create and vote on each others' polls for free. These polls are not monetized in anyway, but include more questionable content. A number of them include females in swimsuits or underwear dancing suggestively to music containing strong language, including "f--k," "p---y," "s--t," and "bitch." The "N" word and references to gun violence are also used. The focus of these polls is comparing and voting on the attractiveness of a woman's "booty" or their overall sexual appeal. The latter poll category is called "Smash or Pass," an internet slang phrase referring to whether or not someone would want to have sex with the subject. So, while the sexual content isn't graphic, the casual inclusion of rating women's bodies definitely takes this one off the table for younger teens.
