Sortpad Review

If you're like me, you've got a ton of photos on your iPhone. I've had an iPhone for over 6 years now and I take a lot of photos – that camera roll is hefty! Sortpad aims to take the hassle out of re-arranging it all and trying to manage such a virtual mountain of imagery. In its free guise it has more potential than actual advantages, but for $1.99 per year you gain the full service, which is way more useful.

Taking seconds to set up, you're presented with a fairly clearly laid out screen. On either side are a selection of titles relating to folders. You then choose to import photos from your camera roll, then swipe each photo left or right to the folder in which you want them to go. It's as simple as that, in theory. The images move across and you realize how much quicker it is to do it this way than do it manually through iOS's normal method. It's great for when you want to divide things up according to type or genre, or simply based upon what photos you want to quickly show friends or family at a later date.

There's a catch though. This is only really the case if you pay that $1.99 for the year's service. Otherwise you're restricted to only two folders: Favorites and Trash. That's still useful of course, but not quite as great as the full service that gives you more flexibility. $1.99 isn't much so it's worth chipping in for, especially with Dropbox sync coming soon.

For those trying to organize their iPhones (and therefore their lives) a little more effectively, Sortpad is a handy solution for a low price. It makes things so much simpler than the awkwardness of manually sorting things out.
