Years of typing SMS messages and other notes mean that most of us are pretty adept when it comes to the iPhone's keyboard. Annoying Cab puts such skills to the test by getting you to answer questions directed by a cab driver at speed. It's a bit simplistic and suffers from some noticeable spelling mistakes, but it's a neat idea.

You leap into the cab and within seconds the driver has something to say. To keep him happy and keen to drive you to your destination, you have to answer him at speed. A line pops up demonstrating what needs to be said, alongside the portrait-based keyboard, and you have to type it out. Fast. Very fast. Mistakes cost you time too, so accuracy and speed are essential here. Practice makes perfect though, and gradually you'll be chipping away at your previous high scores.

annoying4annoying2It's all very Typing of the Deadish and is initially a good idea. The problem is that Annoying Cab doesn't really build upon it. It stays the same, if trickier, the longer you play it, rather than throwing much variety into the mix. You can unlock new cabs but these are for the sake of aesthetics and making you feel as if you're getting somewhere, rather than anything deeper. There's also the issue that the iOS keyboard just isn't as responsive as a physical one and it shows when dealing with something this time-sensitive.

As a tool for teaching you to type faster Annoying Cab does the job, despite those spelling errors that may occasionally catch you out, but it's a shallow delight. One that you'll enjoy for a time but soon forget about.
