Waypoint EDU

A lot or a little?

Parents need to know that Waypoint EDU combines a geocaching game with a quiz creator. Adults can create AR (augmented reality) treasure hunts with custom quizzes for kids to take on the app. Once the details -- such as the quiz questions and the real-life playfield -- are set, then the adult transfers the hunts to kids' devices via AirDrop. There are also two pre-loaded quizzes with history themes to try. Waypoint EDU's developer calls this app "STEM education plus fresh air." As with any geocaching app, kids should use caution and stay safe by having an adult nearby when using map-based apps in public spaces. There's no content in the app that's inappropriate for kids younger than 13, but they shouldn't use the app without supervision. Read the app's privacy policy to find out about the types of information collected and shared.
